Richard A. (Dick) Chauncey

Richard A. (Dick) Chauncey, 73, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 in Graham. Dick was born Feb. 21, 1947 in Independence, Mo. to the late Janis Rae (Burroughs) Chauncey and W.B. Chauncey, Jr. He married Victoria D. DeTurpin on Aug. 27, 1966.

Dick graduated from Central Missouri State University with a B.S. in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Business. He taught classes in Information Technology at Central Missouri State before becoming a management consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton. An assignment for the City of Wichita Falls brought him to Texas in 1973. He later moved to Arlington, where he continued to work for Booz, Allen & Hamilton before starting his own consulting firm. He specialized in IT Management for several multinational organizations. Over the years, he managed large projects in New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Scotland and Russia.

In his leisure time, Dick enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and cooking. He is remembered for his wide range of culinary abilities, which included Mexican, French, Italian, Vietnamese, and Thai, as well as downhome cuisine. Restoring and driving vintage tractors was another passion of his. He served as past president of the Graham Antique Tractor & Machinery Club.
Survivors include wife, Vicki Chauncey of Graham; daughter, Andrea Lowery of Graham; grandchildren, Matthew (Jack) Lowery and Victoria Lowery of Graham; Melissa Gallagher of Fort Worth; Sara Flores of Weatherford; six great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Judy Chauncey of Powhatan, Va., and Toni Goeke and husband Ed Goeke of St. Charles, Mo.; nephews Burt Chauncey of Va., Jake Machnicki of Ill. and Nick Goeke of Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Janis (Burroughs) Chauncey and W.B. Chauncey, Jr., two brothers, William B. Chauncey and David A. Chauncey, and his son-in-law, Jeffrey Lowery.
