Richard G. Armstrong, 71, passed away at his home Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022. A Memorial Graveside was held Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. in Veal Creek Cemetery in Stephens County. Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Richard was born Sept. 13, 1950, in Abilene, to the late Artie Adaline Walker Armstrong and Robert L. “Bus” Armstrong. He married Lynn Gunn, June 20, 1975, in Graham. She preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 2012. Richard was a resident of Tuscaloosa, AL., for several years working in oilfield as a tool pusher before moving back to Graham in 2016.

Richard was a family man who loved his friends and family by giving them a helping hand, a tall tale, and a hard time the way only he could. A Jack of all trades and master of most, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or build which includes the family that will miss him terribly but will always enjoy re-sharing his tall tales.

Survivors include; daughter, Michael Horne and husband Matt of Phoenix, AZ.; son, Ace Bailey and wife Robyn of Tuscaloosa, AL.; two grandchildren; siblings, Von Armstrong and Charlotte Armstrong both of Fort Worth, Nedra Oliver of Graham, and Ronnie Armstrong of Odessa; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Armstrong and brothers, Bob, Billy, Dean, and Charles Armstrong.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Society.
