Two years later, in the summer of 1971, he graduated the Sunset School of Preaching and moved his family from Lubbock to Reedsport, Ore., where he served many years as the preacher for the Reedsport Church of Christ. In the 1980s, it was time to come back to Graham, the home of his mother, Mae Madera. Since that time, he has been a member of the Eastside Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Calcote of Graham; daughter, Teresa Downer of Reedsport, Ore.; sons, T.K. Calcote of Graham and Michael Calcote of McKinney; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
