Ruby Etta Gray

Ruby Etta Gray, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in Graham. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.


Ruby was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Graham to the late Olan Thaxton “Tack” and Mildred Viola (Hinson) Gilmore.  She married Billy E. Gray June 28, 1958, in Graham. Ruby graduated from Graham High School.  Ruby and Billy owned and operated Gray’s Boot Shop for 48 years. Ruby also co-owned Ameri-Craft Mall with her daughter Deborah for 15 years. She was a member of Salem-Crestview United Methodist Church where she was baptized in 1951. Ruby was a talented seamstress who loved making clothes for her four daughters.


Survivors include her husband, Billy E. Gray of Graham; daughters, Cathy Ribble and husband Park of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Deborah Deck and husband Russell of Graham, and Barbara Gray of Hurst; sister, Dorothy Bullock and husband Larry of Graham; brother, Darrell Gilmore and wife Sue of Graham; grandchildren, Stacey Curran and husband, Alex of Yukon, Oklahoma, David Ribble of Mustang, Oklahoma, Lindsay Ribble of Guthrie, OK, Tyson Deck of Graham, Schuyler Sowell of Hurst, Amber Doherty of Bedford, Miranda Sowell of Hurst, Kaitlyn Parker of Graham and Garrett Parker of Graham; great grandchildren, Beckett Ribble, Bryce Ribble, Luke Curran, and Noah Doherty.


She was preceded in death by daughter, Vicki Parker; sister, Modena Ratcliff; brother, Grady Gilmore; and great granddaughter, Berkley Ribble.


Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.
