Rueben Peitz passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021. His funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2021, at McMillan-Satterwhite Chapel. Burial followed at Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at the Funeral Home.

He was born July 24, 1924, to Michael and Bertha Oster Peitz in Jamestown, N.D. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mildred of 75 years; by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

He is survived by his son Daryl Peitz of Rigby, Idaho; two daughters, Dara Domantay of Barbeton, Ohio, and Lanette Mills and husband Joel Williams of Graham; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

At the age of 17, he joined the CCC’s. Shortly after he enlisted in the Navy and served 4 years during WWII. He then moved to Pueblo, Colo. where he met Mildred Stigge Peitz. They both worked at Corwin Hospital. They met in April 1946 and married Nov. 7, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed Dec. 22, 1946. They were happily married for 75 years. In 1956 they moved to Imperial Beach, Calif. and joined Saint James Lutheran Church. He was the treasurer at the church. He made podiums for each of the Christian schools his children attended. In California, he retired from the California Department of Transportation.

They moved to Graham, joined the RV club, the square dance club, Faith Lutheran Church, and traveled everywhere with friends.
