Samuel N. "Sam" Jones, 81, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 at his home in Graham.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham, with interment following at Pioneer Cemetery. Family visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Sam was born June 25, 1935 in Call, and moved to Graham in 1974. He owned and operated Steer Bowl in Graham for many years and served in the Air Force in Korea.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Jones of Graham; daughter, Gwen White of Graham; two sons, Russell Jones of Graham and Randy Jones of Jacksonville; brother, Raymond Jones of Call; seven grandchildren, Rachel Rogers, Stephanie Beauchamp, Caitlyn Warren, Drake Warren, Josh Jones, Emily Wilkerson and Jessica Jones; five great-grandchildren, Alex Strawbridge, Haylee Balvantin, Wyatt Henderson, Weston Beauchamp and Will Beauchamp.

Sam was preceded in death by a daughter, Mona Warren; a granddaughter, Candace White; two sisters and three brothers.
