Thurman L. Boyd, 93, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, in Graham. Funeral was at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022, in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022, in Yantis Cemetery in Yantis, Texas. Visitation will follow at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mineola, Texas.

Thurman was born Nov. 4, 1928 in Yantis, Texas to Beatrice (Howle) and Oscar Lee Boyd. He married Jo Nell Reed in Yantis, Texas on March 1, 1947. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was wounded while there, receiving a Purple Heart for his service. He worked 40 years in the oil and gas industry, retiring from Sonat in Oklahoma City as Operations Manager in 1993. He and JoNell returned to their roots in East Texas and settled in Mineola, where they were members of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Boyd. Survivors include his beloved wife of 75 years, Jo Nell Boyd of Graham; son, Lee Boyd and wife Caroline of Graham; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Boyd of Houston; grandchildren, Matt Boyd and wife Laurel, Elizabeth Salazar, Jared Hoaldridge and wife Kayla, Rachel and Sam Boyd; great grandchildren, Adelia Boyd, Ava Cardwell, Frida, and Ema Salazar, and Walker Hoaldridge.
