Troy Lee Cameron, 84, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 in Graham. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Burial will follow in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Troy was born Feb. 26, 1933 in Cookville, to the late Virgie and Vera Mae (Winkle) Cameron. He married Hazel Strait Feb. 5, 1970 in Perrin and she preceded him in death May 5, 2011. Troy was a rancher and retired from Young County Precinct 2. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Survivors include his daughter, Susie Spitzer and husband, Ty, of Newcastle; son, Michael Cameron of Euless; sister, Bernice Anderson and husband, Bill, of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Shae Humphrey and husband, Chevy, of Newcastle, and Courtney Hantz and husband, C.J., of Gilmer; and great-grandchild, Kynlee Humphrey of Newcastle. He was preceded in death by a son, Mitchel Cameron. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Newcastle.
