Verl W. Hart

Tue, 02/09/2021 - 8:45 am

Verl W. Hart, 69, passed into his eternal reward on Jan. 27, 2021 in Wichita Falls, Texas from complications due to COVID-19. The only child of Lucille and Verl Hart Sr., Verl graduated with the Graham High School class of 1970 before enlisting in the United States Air Force, as well as working in the tire industry for about 50 years.

Verl married Susan (Grant) Hart in 1972, and together they shared the remaining over 48 years of his life. They shared four children: Chris Hart, Elizabeth (Hart) Kirkland, Katie (Hart) Huitt and Jennifer (Hart) Laing; four children in law: Sarah (Edelbrock) Hart, Scott Kirkland, Charles Huitt, and Alex Laing. Six grandchildren: Sarah Kate Huitt, Katherine Hart, Jacob Huitt, Bobbie Jo Hart, Savannah Dowdle, and Faith Kirkland.

He graduated from McMurry University in Abilene and Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In addition to loving and ministering to his family, Verl’s passions included sharing his love of Jesus and of everything good in life. From his home Church at Abundant Life Church in Graford, Verl traveled the world on mission work, especially to Campeche, Guatemala, and Romania. In his retirement, Verl enjoyed telling others about the good in his community, both in word and in photography. Whether it be his favorite restaurants, his beloved Graham Regional Theatre, or his grandchildren’s many events, Verl rejoiced in telling the stories of others. Above all, Verl made everyone he met feel like a part of the family, whether he knew them for 48 minutes or 48 years. His shining example of discipleship, constant positive encouragement, and affirming hugs will be missed by all.

There are no services planned at this time. If you would like to do something for the family, you can: Be kind to each other, wear a mask, and live each day to the fullest!

The family also request that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of these organizations that were especially important to Verl:
