Virginia C. Ridgeway

Virginia C. Ridgeway, 73, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2016. Funeral service was held Friday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel in Breckenridge. Interment followed in Breckenridge Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home, 415 W. Williams in Breckenridge.


Virginia Carolyn Thompson was born Nov. 9, 1942 in Taylor, Ark., to Harold Thompson and Hattie Hall Thompson. She married Bob Ridgeway on Feb. 14, 1983 in Springhill, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and a florist, and member of the People’s Church.


Survivors include her husband, Bob Ridgeway of Graham; daughters, Carla Briscoe Hill and husband, John of Breckenridge and Cheryl Ridgeway of Breckenridge; daughter-in-law, Linda Ridgeway of Durant, Okla.; sister, Maxine Bailey of Camden, Ark.; brothers, Billy Thompson of Springhill, La., Roger Thompson of Springhill, La., Dexter Thompson of Jena, La., and Dale Thompson of Houston; grandchildren, Ashtyn Elliott of Breckenridge, Laura Pilgrim and husband, Kevin of Abilene, Robert Ridgeway and wife, Tasha of Dennison, and Alicia Pitchford and husband, Scott of Durant, Okla.; several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Daryl Ridgeway; sister, Eva Thompson; and brothers, Gerald, James, Ray, Glynn and Benny Thompson.
