Virginia Lou Stewart was born to the late Charlie D. And Nancy Stewart in Quanah, Oct. 22, 1939. Virginia was blessed to be the last of 11 children born to Charlie and Nancy. After being raised in a loving Christian home, Virginia’s faith was strong and very enduring.

She used that strong faith, character and love to marry William “Jim” Clay in Quanah on Feb. 12, 1955. Together they raised five children of their own while moving around northwest Texas before settling in Graham in 1971. Virginia’s faith, love and giving heart has left a legacy in the lives and hearts of her five children, 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren!

Virginia was a nurturer at heart. She was kind, compassionate and forgiving. She always had time and a generous spirit to help others. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 67 years William “Jim” Clay; her sons Jimmy A. Clay and Stewart W. Clay, her son-in-law Roger Price, as well as two daughters Diane and husband Gary Smith and Tami and husband Steve Hitt. In addition, Virginia leaves a host of grand and great-grandchildren along with many life long friends who mourn her passing on June 14, 2022.

Virginia was preceded in death by her mother and father, five brothers, five sisters, one great grandson and her eldest daughter Teresa Price.
