William F. “Bill” Brown

William F. “Bill” Brown, 88, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, in Graham. Funeral services were held Monday, July 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church in Graham. Burial followed in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.


Bill was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to the late John Dennis and Lois (Farrington) Brown. He married Melva June Richardson June 16, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Oklahoma University. He moved to Graham in 1966 from Monahans and was involved in the oil and gas industry in Graham for 50 years. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Graham.


Survivors include his wife, M.J. Brown of Graham; daughter, Janice Ray and husband Rupert of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; sons, William Richardson Brown and wife Janet of College Station and Dr. Robert Farrington Brown and wife Jennifer of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Brown; grandson, Brian Eversole Brown; granddaughter, Carlie June Brown; sister, Sara Brown Mitchell; and brothers, Harry J. Brown and John D. Brown, Jr.
