William Vernon ‘Bill’ George

William Vernon "Bill" George passed away Aug. 2, 2017 at his home in Graham. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Salem-Crestview United Methodist Church in Graham. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Bill was born Sept. 25, 1932 in Graham, to Vernon and Ethel York George, and lived in Graham most of his life. He was retired from Hexcel Corporation and worked for several years at Media Recovery. He was a member of the Tonk Valley Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Gail George of Graham; daughter, Jill Helms and husband, Greg, of Princeton; son, Van George and wife, Amanda, of Graham; three grandsons, Trevor George, Tanner George, and Bryce Livingston and wife, Honey; great-grandson, Cyrus Livingston; brother, Kenneth George and wife, Gloria, of El Paso. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cassie Owens, and two brothers, Robert and Jim. Due to Bill's love of animals, the family request memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Young County, 120 Craig St., Graham, TX 76450.
