Sandra DuBose Oxford

Sandra DuBose Oxford passed on to the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn., after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Thomasville, Ga. on June 3, 1939, to the late Sam and Ethel Ingram DuBose. She graduated from Waycross High School and the University of Georgia where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in special education from the University of Georgia.

Sherman William ‘Butch’ Beddingfield

Sherman William "Butch" Beddingfield passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home in Graham. A farewell party will be held at a later date. Beddingfield was born Dec. 9, 1950 in Houston, and was an oil and gas consultant. Survivors include his wife, Connie Beddingfield of Graham; son, Ryan Beddingfield of Archer City; daughter, Erin Stewart of Graham; six grandchildren, R.J. Brough, Arena Brough, Alex Beddingfield, Tyler Lawrence, Alison Lawrence and Madison Lawrence; and brother, Tony Farris of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Alberts

James Robert Alexander Sr.

James Robert Alexander Sr., 47, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 11, 2017 in Graham, with his family at his side.  James was born Nov. 24, 1969 in Union, Miss., to Billy Wayne Alexander Sr. and Connie Leah Lindley Alexander. His mother preceded him in death.  He is survived by his son, James Robert Alexander Jr. and wife, Amanda; daughter, Meagan Alexander; son, Ronnie Alexander; father, Billy Wayne Alexander Sr. and stepmother, Shawna; brothers, Billy Wayne Alexander Jr.

Nancy Jean Ustick

Nancy Jean Ustick, 65, of Graford, died June 7, 2017, after a long illness. She was a resident of Graford for over 15 years. Nancy was born June 2, 1952, in Adrian, Michigan. She graduated from Grosse Ile High School in Grosse Ile, Michigan. She received her bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University, and she was a flight attendant for American Airlines, traveling the world for 37 years before retiring. Nancy was a very special person, fierce in defense of the defenseless: abandoned animals, the abused, and the environment. Trees and animals spoke to her tender heart.

Eva Gail Rape

Eva Gail Rape passed away June 8, 2017 at her home in Graham. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home with interment following at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. She was born June 28, 1939 in Rotan. She married Paul Earl Rape in 1959 and they moved to Graham in 1962 from Odessa. She was a bookkeeper for Pitcock, Inc.

John Fulbright

John Fulbright, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 07, 2017 in Graham. A Memorial service is pending with Morrison Funeral Home. John was born July 11, 1945 in Fort Worth to the late Kenneth Collie and Helen Ocie Wallace Fulbright. He graduated from Weatherford College with a degree in Engineering. John was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He married Kristina Sampson, June 15, 1968. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2000. He was an employee of the Brazos River Authority working as an engineer at the Possum Kingdom Dam and a member of First United Methodist Church in Graham.

Dr. Kurt Thomas Brown

Dr. Kurt Brown passed away June 5, 2017 at his home in Graham, surrounded by his family, after a two-year triumphant battle with ALS. A rosary will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1218 Rodgers Dr., Graham, on Thursday, June 8, at 7 p.m., and a funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Friday, June 9. Kurt Thomas Brown was born Sept. 22, 1960 in Columbia, Mo., to the late Dr. William Donald Brown and Diane Jeanine (Hydeman) Brown.

Olin Wayne Huffman

Olin Wayne Huffman, 63, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 in Graham. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 10, at 11 a.m. in Gooseneck Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Wayne was born Aug. 5, 1953 in Seymour, to the late William Edwin and Ola Ann (Savage) Huffman. He married Sharon Ann Huffman April 25, 1998 in Graham and she preceded him in death Sept. 19, 2016. Wayne was a self-employed carpenter. Survivors include his daughter, Sondra Torres and husband, James of Hamlin; son, Josh Busch Jr.

Zeb Sumpter

Zeb Sumpter, 82, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 in Graham. A memorial graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 31, at 2 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Zeb was born Oct. 9, 1934 in Noodle, to the late Lillie Bell Martin and Zebie Marion Sumpter Sr. He has been a resident of Graham since 1961. Zeb was the owner of Speedy Bail Bond in Graham for several years. He married June Hutto on Nov. 23, 1979. She preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 2005.

Jerry Lee Karl

Jerry Karl, 78, of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 27, at First Baptist Church in Breckenridge. Interment will follow in the Woodson Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 26, at Morehart Mortuary. Jerry Lee Karl was born Sept. 9, 1938 in Ward County, to Alvie Nathan Karl and Mary Jane Cole Karl. He attended Breckenridge High School, and graduated from BHS in 1957. On Sept. 20, 1958, Jerry married Virginia Carol Perry in Graham. Jerry was a welder.
