Josie Ferguson

Josie Ferguson passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Jacksboro, at the age of 72. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, May 5, in the Coker Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Graceland Cemetery in Jermyn.

Purnie Ovella Weatherbee

Purnie Ovella Weatherbee, 95, of Graham, left her earthly home on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Ovella was born March 17, 1922, in the Montague community near Bowie, to parents John Franklin Hill and Eva Jane Sanders. She and her 17 siblings grew up on their family farm in Hedley, where she attended the local school. Ovella met Marvin Jean Weatherbee in Clarendon and following their courtship, they were married on Dec. 15, 1940, in Childress. They made their home in Olney where Ovella worked after Marvin completed his service in the U.S. Army.

Joseph ‘Gerald’ Washburn

Joseph "Gerald" Washburn, 79, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Eliasville Tabernacle in Eliasville. Burial will follow in Eliasville Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Gerald was born Jan. 20, 1938 in Graham, to the late Frank Haze and Mary Jane (Delong) Washburn. Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War on the USS Saratoga.

L.D. Thetford

L.D. Thetford, 94, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Wichita Falls. Funeral service is scheduled Friday, May 5, at 11 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. L.D. was born Oct. 6, 1922 in Jack County, to the late William A. Thetford and Lona Lynn Thetford. L.D. was a veteran of the U.S.

Thurmond Floyd Elliott

Thurmond Floyd Elliott, 76, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Fort Worth. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 4, at 4 p.m. in Red Top Cemetery in Young County. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Thurmond was born Dec. 31, 1940 in Graham, to the late Floyd and Natalia (Thigpen) Elliott. He married Kay Ridenour Feb. 29, 1992 in Wichita Falls. Thurmond was a cattle truck driver for many years. He also drove for an oil company and American Freightways. He worked many years in the family business at Longhorn Trailer and Body in Wichita Falls.

Adell Dodd

Adell Dodd, 92, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 in Wichita Falls. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.  Adell was born May 1, 1924 in Atoka, Okla., to the late James Willis and Vola Sanders Brumley.

Cordie Pauline Hamlin Truitt

Cordie Pauline Hamlin Truitt, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Graham. Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 30, at 4 p.m. in Jayton Cemetery in Jayton. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Cordie was born March 31, 1934 in Jayton, to the late John Henry and Edna Pearl (Flemming) Hamlin. She married Curtis Gravlee in 1951 in Clovis, N.M., and he preceded her in death. She married Phillip Truitt in Aztec, N.M. in 1973 and he preceded her in death.

Gwendola ‘Gwen’ Lamb Reynolds

Gwendola "Gwen" Lamb Reynolds has left this world to join her Lord. From her birth in Flint, Mich. on Oct. 15, 1930, to her peaceful death in Weatherford on April 26, 2017, she has served her family and her church, and worked in the computer lab at Crestview Elementary for 15 years. Gwen lived most of her life in Graham and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Linda Allen Gregg

Linda Allen Gregg, 75, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Wichita Falls. A graveside funeral will be Saturday, April 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Linda was born Dec. 21, 1941 in Joplin, Mo., to the late Odell Elmer Allen and Gertrude Linda Dillon Allen. She was a resident of Graham most of her life and a member of Cowboy Church of Young County.

Louis L. ‘Junior’ Goodman

Louis L. “Junior” Goodman, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Graham. His funeral will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Louis was born Nov. 15, 1936 in Karnes City, to the late Louis Leafett Goodman Sr. and Tressie Maggie Sinclair Goodman. He married Betty Collier on Jan. 17, 1958 in Abilene. Louis was a self-employed cedar cutter most of his life.
