Rex Lee Mathis

Rex Lee Mathis was born June 24, 1940, in Jack County, to Floyd Lee and Juanita Evadine (Bottoms) Mathis. He passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 in Abilene. He was 76 years old. Rex married Joan Dunlap on Nov.28, 1957 in Jermyn. He was a retired oilfield supervisor, having worked many years for R.L. Adkins Corporation. He was a active member and deacon for First Baptist Church in Jacksboro as well as serving on the Faith Community Hospital Board. Rex was a member and past Master of Fort Richardson #320 Masonic Lodge.

Connie Lee York

Connie Lee York, 73, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Connie was born Jan. 18, 1944 in Burkburnett, to the late Delmus and Pauline Womack. She married Rowdy York on June 23, 2008 in Graham. She was a veterinary technician and loved horses.

Survivors include her husband, Rowdy York of Graham and daughter, Jodi York of Dallas.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Edwards.

Viola ‘Brownie’ Fisher

“Brownie” Fisher, 94, passed away Saturday, Feb.18, 2017. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Parkview Baptist Church with Pastor Don McFarland officiating and Associate Pastor Chase Finch assisting. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brownie was born Dec. 30, 1922 in Collin County, to John Willie Fuller and Ella Belle (May) Fuller.

Betty Joan Cosgrove

Betty Joan Cosgrove, 88, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. in Oak Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Betty was born July 12, 1928 in Frederick, Okla., to the late Jerry Thomas and Betty Martin Largin. She married Stansil Floyd Cosgrove on Nov. 14, 1947 in Vernon. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1973. Betty moved to Graham in 1950 from Frederick, Okla. She was the former owner of Fox Hollow Camp at Possum Kingdom Lake.

William Parr ‘Bill’ Dawson

William Parr “Bill” Dawson, beloved husband of Dorothy and father of Cindy, Mark (wife, Cynthia), and Matt and devoted grandfather of Joshua, Jason, Patrick and Amanda, and cherished great-grandfather of Jaelynn, Madison and Abigail, passed away at his home into his heavenly father’s arms on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017. He was 86 years old. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m.

Christopher Lynn Grissom

Christopher Lynn Grissom, 47, of Graham, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017 at Season’s Inpatient Hospice. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at Country Road Fellowship, S. Hwy. 16 at FM 1191 in Young County. Gary Tull will officiate. Chris was born Feb, 13, 1970 in Lynwood, California. Chris Grissom, also lovingly known by many as "The Bowling Guy,” passed away at 7:09 a.m. to be with his Grandpa and all those he loved who passed before him. Chris had a beautiful heart so huge that if he cared about you, he would do whatever he could do to help you.

Cason Jack Register

Cason Jack Register went home to be with Jesus on Feb. 17, 2017 in Mineral Wells. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at Loving Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Cason was born Feb.

Sue Ann Rodgers

Sue Ann Rodgers, 67, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 in Graham. Funeral services are pending. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Lampasas County, under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Sue was born April 9, 1949, in Lampasas, to the late Roy Thomas and Crystal Arlene (Richardson) Scott. She married James Rodgers on June 27, 1975 in Fort Worth.

John B. Ratcliff

John B. Ratcliff, of Iowa Park and formerly of Graham, passed away at his home the morning of Feb. 13, 2017. Born Dec. 23, 1930 to the family of James Miller Ratcliff and wife Myrtle Carson Ratcliff of Graham, he attended schools and graduated high school in Graham, attended East Central State College of Ada, Okla., attaining a bachelor of science degree in education and a master’s degree in mathematics, and taught schools in Wichita Falls and Iowa Park, retiring in 1985. John met his lifetime soulmate, Patsy Lee Denton of Cisco, and they married April 21, 1951.

J.C. Stanton

J.C. Stanton went to be with his heavenly Father on Feb. 13, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle. Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham. J.C. was born Jan. 8, 1927 in Childress, to James Christopher and Lula Pearl (Zuber) Stanton. He served our country and was a World War II veteran who was stationed in the Philippines and Korea. After returning home from the Army, he met and married Ella Marie Dobson on Oct. 18, 1947, who was the love of his life for 64 years.
