Barbara Martinez, 60, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016 in Graham. A graveside funeral will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at Center Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Barbara was born April 16, 1956 in Mexico. She was a longtime resident of Graham and an employee of Media Recovery. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She was strong in her faith and in her love for her savior, Jesus Christ.

Scott Wesley Hudson passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016.  Scott was born in Dallas on Jan. 2, 1929, to Hayden Haas Hudson and Florence Scott Hudson. Scott grew up living in the Baker Hotel in downtown Dallas (owned by his uncle, Fenton Baker, and managed by Scott's father, Hayden). After his father's untimely death in 1944, Scott was sent to St. John's Military Academy in Delafield, Wisc., for his junior year in high school. He returned to Dallas for his senior year and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1946.

James Frank Hunt, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was born March 3, 1935 in Odessa, to Dr. William Anthony and Pauline Hunt. He passed away Dec. 12, 2016. Frank graduated from Big Spring High School in 1953. After graduation he enrolled in The University of Texas’ history department and received his bachelor’s degree.

John D. Riggs Sr., 87, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at his home in Graham. A memorial service will be held Saturday Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. John was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Graham, to the late Edgar Ryerson and Lucie Donalson Riggs. He graduated from Graham High School, attended Kemper Military School, then the University of Texas. He was a veteran of the Army. John was a member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church and spent most of his life as an independent oil producer and owner of Riggs Petroleum Company.

Lila Reedy Maples, 91, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 in Fort Worth. A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Lila was born Aug. 21, 1925 in Murray, to the late Charles L. and Crystal Elizabeth (Gowens) Reedy. She married D.T. “Buster” Maples on Feb. 3, 1944 in Dallas. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1995. Lila was a former employee of Schlumberger Well Service, where she worked as a secretary.

Billie M. Huckobey, 95, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 in Graham. Funeral will be Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Billie was born June 22, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late James Joseph and Josephine (Rose) Espinola. She married W.R. "Bill" Huckobey on Jan. 22, 1943. He preceded in death on Aug. 24, 2008. Billie was the manager of Winn's Variety Store in Graham for many years.

S.N. “Sally” Pippin Pitts, 95, died Dec. 8, 2016, in Graham. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at the Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle with Jason Arispe, pastor of Christian Hope in Newcastle, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Elsie Ratcliffe, 72, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 in Graham. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Elsie was born Feb. 21, 1944 in Big Spring, to the late Houston and Sara (Smith) Walker. She married Jim Ratcliffe on Dec.

Steven Lee Carpenter, 60, of Charles Town, W. Va., passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 in Charles Town. A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 12, at 2p.m. at Eastside Church of Christ in Graham, with Dorman Holub officiating. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Steven was born Feb. 20, 1956 in Fort Worth to Norman and Sujane (Mouser) Carpenter. Steve attended school in Fort Worth until moving to Graham in 1965. The family moved to Columbia, Tenn.
