Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ Miller

Jeffrey "Jeff" Miller, 38, of Graham, died in a one-car accident on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 in Palo Pinto County. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Graham following the family graveside service. Visitation for friends will be held at Morrison Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home in Graham. Jeff was born Aug. 20, 1978 in Graham. He graduated from Graham High School in 1996 and was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church.

Roy Lee Curry Sr.

Roy Lee Curry Sr., 87, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, in Bowie. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in the chapel of the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Bowie Educational Foundation at P.O. Box 992, Bowie, TX 76230. Roy was born April 13, 1929, near Hollis, Okla., to Ernest and Tommye Curry, both now deceased. He was a retired educator, serving as a teacher, coach and administrator in Texas schools for 36 years, before his retirement in 1986. Roy graduated from Bowie High School in 1947.

James Chester Rhodes Sr.

James Chester Rhodes Sr., 91, of Graham, formerly of Jack County, an Army veteran, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 in Graham. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksboro with burial following at Staggs Prairie Cemetery in Mineral Wells. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, from 6-7 p.m. at Coker Funeral Home.

George R. Jones

George R. Jones, 80, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 in Graham. A memorial service was held Friday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. George was born April 5, 1936 in Menard, to the late John Henry and Nora Cassandra (Ivy) Jones. He married Emma Maurine Stanley in 1958 in Breckenridge and she preceded him in death on Jan. 6, 2013.

George Benjamin ‘Ben’ Johnson

George Benjamin “Ben” Johnson, 93, of Midland, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Ben was born on May 31, 1923, in Graham, to Bertie Davis Johnson and George Benjamin Johnson. At the age of 19, he left the family farm to serve for six years in the Navy Air Corps as a radioman-gunner, patrolling and engaging in combat and rescue missions throughout the Pacific, including Midway and Guadalcanal. He was twice awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross.

Sally L. Poole

Sally L. Poole, 91, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, in Graham. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Sally was born Dec. 2, 1924 in Parkin, Ark., to the late William Bryant and Sarah Lila (McCollum) Greenwood. She married Earl Poole on Jan. 17, 1981 in La Grange. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2013. Sally worked with Earl in the advertising business.

Robert Warren ‘Buddy’ Parsons

Robert Warren "Buddy" Parsons passed away Sept. 11, 2016 in Hobbs, New Mexico. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Veals Creek Cemetery. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Buddy was born Oct. 14, 1925 in Graham and lived in Graham and Wichita Falls most of his life. He was a retired pumper. Survivors include a daughter, Paula Martin and husband Harold of Hobbs, N.M.; five grandchildren, Lance Martin, Trampus Martin, Stephanie Martin, Leslee Escobedo and Amanda Martin; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Jesse Leroy Moses

Jesse Leroy Moses, 93, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 in Greenville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Graham. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. in Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Jesse was born May 27, 1923 in Fannin County to the late Frank and Eula (Shepherd) Moses. He married Claudia Carter on May 17, 1978 in Bonham. Jesse was a veteran of the U.S.

Wanda Gay Young Corbett

Wanda Gay Young Corbett, 82, of Graham, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 at her son and daughter-in-law's home in Lawton, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Wanda was born Dec. 13, 1933 in Eliasville, to W.R. Young "Man" and Gay Virginia Elledge. She was the fourth of five girls born and is survived by two sisters, Francis Ranch of Albuquerque, N.M.

Alice Louise Ellerd

Alice Louise Ellerd, 87, of Graham, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 in Granbury. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. in Eastside Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Alice Louise was born to the late R.L. and Fay Elizabeth Montana on June 29, 1929 at home in Young County near Woodson. She married Lawrence David Ellerd on Feb. 26, 1955 in Throckmorton. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2005. She loved being and working outside.
