Samuel N. "Sam" Jones

Samuel N. "Sam" Jones, 81, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 at his home in Graham.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham, with interment following at Pioneer Cemetery. Family visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.


Sam was born June 25, 1935 in Call, and moved to Graham in 1974. He owned and operated Steer Bowl in Graham for many years and served in the Air Force in Korea.

Virginia C. Ridgeway

Virginia C. Ridgeway, 73, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2016. Funeral service was held Friday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel in Breckenridge. Interment followed in Breckenridge Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home, 415 W. Williams in Breckenridge.


Virginia Carolyn Thompson was born Nov. 9, 1942 in Taylor, Ark., to Harold Thompson and Hattie Hall Thompson. She married Bob Ridgeway on Feb. 14, 1983 in Springhill, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and a florist, and member of the People’s Church.

Lloyd F. Swiger

Lloyd F. Swiger, 87, found peace and comfort in his heavenly home, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in Wichita Falls.  A Graveside funeral will be held Saturday, 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Mena, Arkansas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Lonnie Lovern

Lonnie Lovern, 71, of Possum Kingdom Lake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. in Graford Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Palo Pinto County, under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Lonnie was born Aug. 22, 1944 in Graham, to the late Lonnie Claude and Melva Lee (Sullivan) Lovern. He married Dana Elizabeth Roberson on Sept. 20, 1980 in Hico. Lonnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Gary Lynn Gomillion

Gary Lynn Gomillion, 62, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 in Graham. Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m. in Faith Baptist Church in Graham. Burial followed in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Clay County. Arrangements under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Gary was born July 30, 1954 in Bowie. He attended school in Graham and was a member Faith Baptist Church where he loved to sing. Gary was a very happy person who brought many hours of laughter to his family.

Samuel Dean Giddens

Samuel Dean Giddens, 79, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Aug. 17, 2016 in Mount Pleasant. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Northridge Church of Christ, with visitation held prior to the service from 1:30-3 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at the Monticello Cemetery. Samuel was born Feb. 18, 1937 in Round Timber, spent his younger years in Clarksville and later moved to Graham, where he met his wife. He graduated from Graham High School in 1954 and attended the University of Texas at Arlington.

M.K. Weatherbee

M.K. Weatherbee passed away Aug. 10, 2016 in Abilene. A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Graham. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. M.K. was born Nov. 17, 1923 in Young County, and lived in Graham most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. M.K. was an avid shooter, golfer and bowler and was a Graham volunteer fireman for many years.

Butch Spurlin

Butch Spurlin, 70, passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, in Graham. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 15, at 9:30 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Butch was born June 1, 1946, in Graham. He graduated from Graham High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam. Butch worked in the oilfield most of life.

Lucille Anne Wolfe Johnson

Lucille Anne Wolfe Johnson, 85, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. in Oak Street Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. in Roselawn Memorial Park in Salina, Kansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Lucille was born May 28, 1931 in Simpson, Kan., to Frank and Cora Wolfe. She graduated from Simpson High School in 1948 and Brown Mackie Business College. Lucille married Rollin Leonard Johnson on June 17, 1950 in Salina, Kan. He preceded her in death Feb.
