Matthew Joseph Herpeche

Matthew Joseph Herpeche, 55, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020. Graveside funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, in Loving Cemetery in Loving. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Matt was born May 10, 1964 in Breckenridge to the late Jean Ann Hollis Herpeche and Gaston Nathan Herpeche. He married Cynthia Holman, Sept. 21, 1986. Matt worked most of his life in the oilfield as a truck driver and diesel mechanic. His greatest joy and accomplishment are his family and friends. He would do anything for them, he will be missed by many.

Melissa P. Henson Hicks

Melissa P. Henson Hicks passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Hicks was a resident of Graham.

She is survived by her husband, Jonathan Henson, of Graham; two daughters, Megan and Brittany Pruett, of Wichita Falls; son, Maximo Diaz Jr., of Wichita Falls; sister, Cheryl Tovar, of Graham; two brothers, George Wayne Hicks and James Walter Hicks III, of Wichita Falls; her father, James Walter Hicks II, of Dothan, Ala.; and five grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Phyllis Stansell

Phyllis Stansell passed away Jan. 27, 2020 at her home in Graham. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Loving Cemetery near Loving. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis was born Nov. 22, 1954 in Graham to O.B and Edith Hearne and lived in Graham most of her life.

Jerry Lamar Martin

Jerry Lamar Martin passed away Jan. 25, 2020 at his home near Graham. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home.

Jerry was born Aug. 30, 1964 in Graham and was a lifelong resident of Graham.

Robert C. (Bob) Scott

Robert C. (Bob) Scott departed this world on December the 30th, 2019 and is now in the presence of his heavenly father. He was born in Graham on March 26, 1939 to C.W. (Snooks) and Margaret Craig Scott. He leaves behind daughter, Allyson Gourley of Fort Worth, Sons, Carter Scott and wife, Heather of Fort Worth, Taylor Scott and wife Alicia of Moore, Okla., four grandsons, Zachary Scott, Cameron Scott, Spencer Gourley and Barrett Scott. He also leaves behind two sisters, Betty Byrd of Poyen, Ark. and Patsy Scott and husband Jerry Don Downing of Cleburne.

Lillie Mae Cavitt

Lillie Mae Cavitt, 89, of Newcastle, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020 peacefully at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Newcastle with Pastor Jessie Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Dan J. Heard

Dan J. Heard, age 90, died at his home on Lake McQueeney Jan. 7, 2020 while surrounded by his family. Dan was born on the farm in rural Lamb County north of Littlefield in the Texas Panhandle on June 5, 1929.

He is preceded in death by a son, Leslie Edward Heard.

He is survived by his wife of seventy years, the former Oma Dee McCormick. He is also survived by his daughter Pam White and husband Walter, son Danny Heard and wife Jill, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Rev. William “Bill” Richard Gathings

Rev. William “Bill” Richard Gathings passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020 in Venus. Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Gooseneck Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Rev. Gathings was born Aug.11, 1943, South Bend, to the late James “Jim” Allen Gathings Sr. and wife, Lillian Pinkston Gathings. Rev. Gathings pastored in Southern Baptist Convention for many years and before his death was pastor of Christ the Great Shepherd Church, Sanger.
