Graham High School athletic director Kenny Davidson has found his guy to lead the Steers basketball team. Kris Hise, formerly of Big Spring, was selected for the job and started this week. On top of his duties with boy’s basketball, he will coach the Steers cross country team and will serve as an assistant in golf. Hise will teach special education at GHS.

Graham High School athletic director Kenny Davidson said Hise quickly “shot up” his list after talking to other athletic directors.

“(Kris) is a good young coach with a lot of energy,” Davidson said. “He comes from a few other smaller schools but when I talked to other coaches and ADs they all said they would hire him in a second. He came highly recommended and I think that he will be able to relate well to the players.”

Hise arrives in Graham after a four-year stint in Big Spring as head coach of the boy’s basketball team, also named the Steers. This will be the start of his 14th year in coaching. He’s also had stops at Hamlin and Wheeler.
