The Newcastle Bobcats didn’t let Bryson’s senior night deter them from picking up a dominant win. The Bobcats defeated the Cowboys 82-6 to go into the postseason with momentum.

Offensively, the run game was pivotal in picking up the dominant victory. London Martinez, once again, led the charge with four carries for 141 yards and three touchdowns.

Keegen Voyles also had 28 rushing yards and a touchdown and Joey Soito was right behind him with 24 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Leighton Gowens finished off the rushing scoring with a two yard rushing touchdown. Cooper Clayton also had a rushing touchdown from Rylan Hinojosa.

The team also had notable contributions defensively. Keyton Newland picked off two passes from the Cowboys and had two defensive scores while Hinojosa had a sack, a forced fumble and another defensive score.

It wasn’t even a contest after the first quarter when the Bobcats were up 50-0 and they eventually picked up the mercy rule victory.

Newcastle ends their season with a 7-2 record with their only losses being to May and Jayton. The Bobcats also finished district play undefeated with a perfect 4-0 record and with a first place finish.

The Bobcats beat out teams like Vernon Northside, Knox City, Perrin-Whitt and Bryson. Being able to pick up a momentous win like this is pivotal for the Bobcats as they want to go into the playoffs on a high note.

The Bobcats have been starting to find their rhythm in the run game during district play and will look to keep that going as they go into the playoffs.

The defense has been dominant all season as well with takeaways and defensive scores, and they were right in line with that in their final game of the regular season.

The Bobcats will now look towards postseason play in hopes to go on a deep run down the stretch of this season.
