The Newcastle Bobcats traveled to Jacksboro High School for a bi-district matchup against the Bellevue Eagles.

The Bobcats fought hard in their matchup but ultimately lost to the Eagles by a final score of 49-32.

Newcastle got off to a slow start trailing 12-5 after the end of the first quarter. Keyton Newland got the Bobcats on the board with a three pointer but then hit a bit of a cold spell for the rest of the quarter. Eventually, Jacob Omundi got the team back on the board again with a layup.

In the second quarter, the Bobcats went on a run, getting into a rhythm to officially make the game a fight once again.

In particular, London Martinez led the charge in the come from behind effort shooting from beyond the arc. Martinez hit a pair of triples and Mikey Soito alongside Omundi hit complimentary shots as well to make it just a six point game trailing 21-15 at halftime.

The Bobcats tried to stay in the fight for much of the second half, continuing to hit shots from the perimeter from Rylan Hinojosa, Joey Soito and Jayden Hemby, but they were not able to come back as Bellevue went on too many scoring runs.

Despite the loss, head coach James King has expressed previously how proud he was of the team for getting this far in the season after battling through adversity and injuries throughout the year.
