Boys, girls varsity CC teams both finish second at home meet

Graham finished second in both men’s and women’s varsity at the 2016 Graham Invitational Cross Country meet hosted by Graham Country Club. Khloe Morris led Graham’s varsity teams with a second-place finish. Morris’ 13:27.84 was a personal record. Debi Hunter ran a 14:10.46 as the girls’ next finisher at fifteenth. In seventeenth was Maria Hernandez with a time of 14:21.85, and Lexi Fuentes was in nineteenth place with her 14:25.50. Rounding out the girls’ top five was Kendra Williams in twenty-first place with a time of 14:27.09. Paradise won the girls varsity division with four runners in the top 16. On the boys side, Burkburnett dominated with five runners in the top 10, including first, second and third place. Graham’s second-place team finish was led by Will Walton who finished ninth with a time of 18:33.03. Jake Lanham was close behind Walton in eleventh place with a 18:41.85 time, while Sam Perkins came in twelfth with a time of 18:45.16. Graham’s fourth and fifth finishers, Jonathan Sanchez and Carlos Fuentes, came in seventeenth and eighteenth place with times of 19:14.12 and 19:30.30. The girls JV team won the meet with five runners in the top 11. Chayah Cornell finished first with her 15:10.93. Bailey Marshall came in third with a 15:19.86, and Evie Griffin ran a 15:47.98 to come in fifth overall. Bailey East’s 15:59.29 was good for eighth place, and Reagan Romines’ 16:27.56 was good for eleventh.
