Boys at top of both divisions in 70th annual PK Relays
Graham’s varsity and junior varsity boys track and field teams enjoyed the comfort of home while hosting the 70th annual Possum Kingdom Relays Saturday, taking the top spots in both divisions.
Meanwhile, Graham’s varsity Lady Blues had a good day Saturday during the Possum Kingdom Relays, taking 3rd place with 75 points in a field of 13 teams, behind Canyon at 172 points and Stephenville with 101 points.
The Division 1 JV Graham Girls came in 8th overall in a field of 10, with 23 points, while Newcastle came in 6th with 31 points. Nearby Olney took 2nd place with 106 points, and overall, Stephenville was in the top spot with 171.5 points.
The varsity Lady Blues’ highlight of the day likely was taking 1st place in the 4x200 relay. Julia Grimes, Chloe Menard, Rosie Schaffer and Summer Croxton flew to the top spot with a time of 1:49.92. Makenzie Graham got some good air in the pole vault, earning 2nd with a height of 8-06.00.
Graham’s Boys JV team easily took the top spot in Division I play (JV, 1A and 2A teams), earning 159 points to take 1st place in a field of 10 teams. Covenant Classical took 2nd at 96 points, Stephenville was 3rd with 76 points, followed by Olney at 72 points and Newcastle with 50 points.
