Jason Briles knows that this is a big week.

With the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association All-Star Game slated for Saturday, the Bryson head football coach will be the man in charge of the East team. Before coming over to Bryson, the football program had hit a rough patch. The Cowboys were just 4-16 before Briles arrival as the head coach.

Approaching the start of his fourth season, Briles will represent the small community of Bryson along with 2018 graduates, Brayden Houser and Paul Davidson Saturday evening at Memorial Stadium. After spending time coaching 11-man football at Graham and Mineral Wells, prior to his transition to six-man football, Briles is humble about his success on the gridiron.

"Especially being apart of six-man for just three years, it's really flattering to get noticed by the coaches throughout the state, Briles said. "This is a big week for me and I couldn't be more excited about the opportunity."

For the recently graduated football stars, the week will represent their final time that many will be able to strap on the pads. However, Houser and Davidson will continue their football careers at Wayland Baptist University next month. After the duo helped spearhead a dynamic offense that averaged 60 points per outing this season, they will look to light up the scoreboard come Saturday.

Houser exerted himself with one of the elite passers in Class 1A over the final two seasons. The signal-caller passed for over 2,330 yards and 45 touchdowns during his senior season, while Davidson put up monster numbers on the ground helping lead Bryson to their first district championship since 2011. The wide receiver/free safety was the top target for Houser during the Cowboys' 9-3 season in 2017 that saw them reach the area round of the playoffs. Davidson, was named to the Times Record News' Super Six MVP, hauled in 23 TD catches to go along with his whopping 120 tackles on the other side of the ball.

Bryson assistant coaches Hunter Hayes and Brent Tuel also join Briles on the sideline.

The DI All-Star Game will be held at 7:30 from Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls. Newcastle's K.C. Shields and Gage Bozeman are representing the East in the TSMCA basketball games Saturday afternoon at  D.L. Ligon Coliseum on the camps of Midwestern State University.

The athletes that were selected to participate in their final high school football game of their career began the week-long festivities Tuesday at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. The event is....
