What started as a good tournament ended sour for the Bryson baseball team this weekend. The Cowboys went 1-2 at the Saint Jo tournament, bringing their overall record to 2-2 for the season.
Bryson 10, Saint Jo 3
Bryson raced out to a 4-0 lead after two innings over the host Panthers. Saint Jo got a run back in the bottom of the third to make the game 4-1. However, the Cowboys got two more runs back in the top of the fourth, making the score 6-1.
In the fifth, the Cowboys tacked on four more runs, to lead 10-1. Saint Jo scored two in the bottom half of the inning, but that wasn’t enough to mount a comeback.
Jon Alaniz finished the game 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and a run scored. Tristan Stephens registered a 3-for-3 performance at the plate with two runs. Brayden Houser was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
