Bryson Lady Cowgirls heating-up at right moment

With district play approaching, Bryson head coach Chelsea Kincaid has to feel good about her team’s play up to this point.

Bryson fell on the road to Class 2A Petrolia on Tuesday in straight sets 3-0, (25-16, 25-13, 25-15), but is playing with a ton of confidence with district play beginning this weekend.

The Lady Cowgirls competed last weekend at the 25-team Buckle Up for Lane’s Sake Tournament in Nocona with Sydney Davidson being named to the all-tournament team. Krum won the championship  with a sweep over Windthorst in the finals. 

Bryson finished fourth in Pool A on the first day before competing in the silver bracket on Saturday. The Cowgirls dispatched Nocona’s JV in two sets (25-12, 25-13) in their final game on Thursday.

Bryson fell to Class 4A powerhouse Melissa (11-25, 12-25), Henrietta (16-25, 23-25) and Lindsay (8-25, 11-25).

Kincaid’s squad, which took fourth in the silver bracket, saw several standouts from the two-day tournament.

In the win against Nocona’s junior varsity, Maddee Moore led the way with seven kills and eight digs followed by Sydney Davidson’s five kills, nine digs and a block. Kayleigh Pippin contributed with four kills and 11 digs. Kyla Jones helped with a team-high 20 assists, seven digs and a kill. Hannah Robinson provided six digs and two kills while Rachel Robinson collected two digs and a kill. Brinkley Richardson finished with nine digs, and a kill.
