Bryson’s playoff hopes remain after win

The Bryson Cowboys ended a six-game losing skid with a 60-40 victory over Perrin Friday at Cowboy Stadium.

With the win, the Cowboys keep their playoff hopes alive heading into the final week of the season.

“We were finally able to play four quarters of football,” said head coach Jason Briles. “ We had some mistakes early in the first and third quarters but were able to overcome and respond. “We threw the ball the best we have all year and definitely ran the ball well.”

Bryson led 26-18 at halftime but immediately fell into a hole. The visiting Pirates scored the first 14 points of the second half to jump out ahead 32-26. The first touchdown came on a 20-yard catch from Chance Tessman and the later came on a Anthony Pacheco 3-yard run.

Bryson (3-6, 1-2 District 9-1A Division I) answered on its next possession on a 7-yard scamper by T.J. Imotichey. The sophomore plowed over three Perrin (5-3, 1-2 9-1A DI) defenders on his way to the end zone to tie the game at 32-all with 4:07 left in the....
