Last season, the Bryson Cowgirls managed to claim a second-place finish in district and a berth in the playoffs. For the same to occur this season, the Cowgirls have some work to do after their performance last Friday night. Bryson struggled to score. The Cowgirls registered single digit scoring totals in the second and fourth quarters, leading to a 35-30 defeat at home to Woodson. The Cowgirls were set to continue district play Tuesday night against Paint Creek and will be back at home Friday night, Jan. 13, taking on Graford with games set to begin at 4:30 p.m. At the end of the first quarter it looked as though Bryson was going in the right direction. The Cowgirls built up an 11-9 advantage as the second quarter began, but the game quickly went sour. A 5-point second quarter gave Woodson an opportunity to close the gap. Both teams went into the locker room tied at 16-16 after WHS scored 7 points. For the rest of this story, subscribe to our print or online edition.
