The Graham Steers varsity baseball team has had a tough few games go against them during the district part of their schedule, but on Tuesday, everything went their way. Four pitchers combined for a no-hitter in a dominating 13-0 victory in five innings over Wichita Falls Hirschi on Senior Night. The Steers used a 10-run bottom of the first inning to pummel the visiting Huskies (0-16, 0-6). 14 batters came to the plate in the frame. Seniors Tucker Horn and John Collins both had multiple hits in the inning while Cameron Parker reached base twice as well. Senior third baseman Joe Hernandez went a perfect 4 for 4 at the dish with an RBI in his final home game. John Collins went 3 for 3 with two doubles and two runs batted in. Before the game, Graham honored the hard work and dedication that six seniors-Collins, Horn, Parker, Hernandez, Donovan Barrett and Adam Groves gave for four years under the program. The six each had big nights on offense by going a combined 12 for 15 with seven runs batted in. While the offense was clicking on all cylinders, the story of the game was the work done on the mound by the Steers. Starting pitcher Luke Stone fired two perfect innings with five strikeouts. Daniel Gilbertson, Barrett and Parker each threw an inning with no hits allowed. The quartet used just 78 pitches to mow down the Huskies at the plate, allowing only two base runners on two walks.
