As we transition into the new year, Graham High School will look back and honor each of its athletes who participated in its fall athletics program.

GHS will celebrate the effort and accomplishments of each of these athletes during their annual fall sports banquet in January.

The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 and will commemorate athletes for their achievements in sports like football, volleyball, cross country and cheerleading.

Awards will also be presented to team managers and athletic trainers for each of these teams.

Some of these awards have already been highlighted by The Graham Leader, such as the Steers football team who were honored with all district and even all state awards, as well as the Lady Blues volleyball team who received all district awards after their season concluded.

Both of these teams had successful seasons. The Steers finished with a 9-4 record, while going 4-1 in their district to finish second and making it all the way to the regional semifinal round of the postseason.

The Lady Blues also made the postseason this year after finishing with a 67% winning percentage with a 28-14 record.

The cross country and cheer teams competed on a weekly basis and represented the Graham community proudly while the athletic trainers and team managers made sure all of their players were in order and prioritized the health and safety of each of the athletes for the entirety of their seasons.

This is an annual tradition for Graham High School and this year the event will once again take place in the high school gym.
