GHS Cross Country runs in Brock Invitational

Graham High School Cross Country traveled to Brock for this week’s Brock Invitational. The Steers faced tough competition against six other teams while the Lady Blues competed against 12 other teams.

Marcos Hererra finished third overall for the Steers in the boys’ 5K race. He finished third overall with a time of 18:22.16. Holton Weatherman finished in 21st overall at 20:04.20. Christian Coyac ran a time of 21:05.06 for a 31st place finish. Freshman Nathan Palacios finished 52nd with a time of 22:27.39. Guerin Pettus was the final runner for the Steers in 65th place with a time of 23:55.33.

Overall the Steers finished sixth place behind Hamilton, Poolville, Bowie, Glen Rose and Nocona. The team combined for a time of 21:11.

In the varsity girls’ 3200-meter race, Madi Wilde was the top runner for the Lady Blues. Her finishing time of 14:05.97 was good for 17th overall. The freshman pair of Macee Wilde (14:19.59) and Olivia Pettus (15:10.86) finished in 30th and 42nd. Seniors Alejandra Barrios (15:24.81) and Michel Graham (15:26.68) had back-to-back finishes at 46th and 47th. Juniors Kylee Miller (15:31.53) and Alexa Palacios (16:07.82) finished 50th and 65th overall.
