GHS, GJHS run at Lipan Invitational
Cross country teams from both Graham High School and Graham Junior High School competed at the Lipan Invitational. The GJHS boys took first place in the Junior High 2 race while the GJHS finished second. In the high school varsity races, the Lady Blues took sixth place while the Steers took fifth.
Varsity Steers
Marcos Hererra was the top runner for the Steers with a third-place finish overall. He finished the 5K course in 17:08.55. Holton Weatherman finished 16th overall with a time of 18.49.40. Christian Coyac (20:47.18) and Nathan Palacios (21:28.31) finished in 37th and 48th. Juniors Guerin Pettus (22:35.93) and Levi May (22:44.52) finished 48th and 50th out of 79 runners.
As a team, the Steers finished fifth overall with 113 points behind Comanche (53 points), Eastland (67), Dublin (78) and Breckenridge (97).
Varsity Lady Blues
Maddie and Macee Wilde were the two top runners for the Lady Blues with finishes of 16th and 17th place in the 3200-meter girl’s race. Maddie ran a time of 14:39.62 while Macee finished with a time of 14:39.97. The senior duo of Alejandra Barrios (14:50.35) and Michel Graham (15:48.57) finished in 21st and 44th. Not far behind Graham was junior Kylee Miller in 46th place with a time of 15:54.86. Olivia Pettus finished 53rd overall at 16:14.02. Alexa Palacios was the final runner for the Lady Blues at 70th overall out of 93 runners and a time of 18:12.08.
