The Graham basketball teams had a winning Friday last week as the sub-varsity teams all earned wins over the visiting Mineral Wells Rams.

The Steers JV Red and Blue teams faced off against the Mineral Wells teams and both earned dominant victories while the Lady Blues JV Red team earned a big win over the Lady Rams.

JV Red Steers v. Mineral Wells (W), 61-46

The JV Red Steers led at the end of each quarter in the game. At the end of the first quarter, Graham led 13-11 and continued to build up the lead after each period until they earned the win.

Cooper Corley led the team with 21 points, Travis Alveraz was right behind him with 20 points, Thomason Burkett had 9 points and Jagger Nees finished with 7 points. Gabe Shook and Macrae Menard each had 2 points apiece.

JV Blue Steers v. Mineral Wells (W), 35-16

The JV Blue Steers had a strong defensive performance against Mineral Wells. Graham led 17-11 at halftime and then only allowed five points to the visiting Rams in the second half.

Obed Trejo was the leading scorer for the Steers in this one with 15 points. He was the only player to score in double-digits but the team received offensive contributions from a host of other players.

Damon Alcantar had 6 points, Jewelz Howard and Jaden Neal each had 4 points and Cason Walker, Gabe Miranda and Dax Elder all contributed 2 points apiece.

JV Red Lady Blues v. Mineral Wells (W), 31-16

The Lady Blues overcame some adversity in the first quarter after taking some time to get the offense going. They trailed 6-4 after one period but came back to take the lead by halftime and never let it go.

Ava Street went off in the game for 15 of the Lady Blues’ points, followed by Savannah Fricks with 6 points, Hope Bryer with 4 points and Emely Ramirez, Madison Smith and Angela Fuentes with 2 points each.
