GHS tennis opens season with back-to-back wins

Saturday morning, Aug. 6, Graham tennis defeated Lake Worth 18-1. After traveling to Krum today, the team will travel to Iowa Park Friday, Aug. 12 and Saturday, Aug. 13 for the Iowa Park team tournament. The next GHS tennis home match will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 against Brownwood.

Graham tennis is off to a fast start for the 2022 team tennis season. Coach Mandy Cernosek is off to a 2-0 start in her first year as tennis head coach following wins over Decatur and Lake Worth Friday and Saturday. This marks the second-straight 2-0 start for Graham tennis.

GHS travels to Decatur

Decatur played host for Graham’s season-opening match Friday which saw Graham coming home with a 13-6 win over Decatur.

“Along with great singles matches, we did an excellent job in the doubles and mixed doubles matches,” Cernosek said. “I am very proud of how the team played today. I look forward to working with such a great group of athletes in the upcoming season.”
