Only two teams played Monday night to close out the season against Kirby Middle School at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls. The seventh grade A team capped off an undefeated season with a 36-6 win.

“This was an awesome year to coach and to watch the young men grow and learn to compete,” seventh grade coach Keith Henderson said.  “Anytime you have an undefeated season, you have to be doing something right.  The young men came out everyday and worked and learned the different schemes that football presents. Whether it was lining up to another school's offense and preparing for what they are going to run against us or attacking their defense to produce yardage and score. This season is one to remember for all of us and I am just so proud of their work ethic and the great attitudes the players presented. This team has a future for Graham ISD and if they stay together and grow as a team they will be a force to reckon with. Again, I know all the coaches are very proud to have a part in this awesome season of 2021.”

In the eighth grade A game, the Steers posted a 30-0 shutout victory to close out the season. Jace Gill ran for three touchdowns, including for 58 and 62 yards. Hayden Meador added an 8-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

“It was great to win our last game of the season. (That) made it 5 in a row,” eighth grade coach Don Payne said. “Our defense was outstanding and was led by Jordan Alexander who was just super with 12 tackles. He only knows one speed and that’s always full speed. Our offense misfired some in the first half but finally got untracked as Jace Gill cut loose with two long runs over 50 yards. These guys struggled last year but really began to believe in themselves this season. They were a lot of fun to coach.”
