GJHS football win over Broncos, Eagles

Graham Junior High School’s seventh and eighth grade football “A” teams traveled to Breckenridge Thursday, Sept. 22 and split a pair of games with the Broncos. GJHS seventh graders were defeated 28-22. Following the loss, the eighth grade team fell behind early and shut the Broncos out in the second half for a 36-14 win.

The Broncos scored in the first quarter and led 8-0 after a successful two-point conversion. Brodie Martin found the end zone first for the eighth grade Steers with a 1-yard touchdown run. Martin followed with a successful two-point conversion with a throw to Thomason Burkett.

The Broncos bounced back with their final touchdown, in the second quarter and led 14-8 following a failed point-after-touchdown attempt.

The Steers scored before halftime and never looked back. Brodie Martin threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Bryce Martin. A failed point-after-touchdown left both teams tied at 14-14 going into halftime.
