The Graham Junior High School Lady Blues bounced back this week after suffering a pair of losses Monday, Dec. 5 against City View. Only the A teams for seventh and eighth grade played Dec. 5 in City View. Both A and B teams participated Dec. 12 with three of the four teams earning victories at home against Iowa Park. All scores and stats were provided by coach Kim Brewster.

City View 54, Lady Blues (Eighth A) 30

Top scorer: Addyson Weaver, 18 points.

Top rebounder: Weaver, five rebounds.

Top defensive player: Ady Pinkston, five steals.

 

City View 26, Lady Blues (Seventh A) 25

Top player: Angel May with 18 points and led the team in rebounds.

 

Lady Blues (Eighth A), 30, Lady Hawks 28

Top offensive player: Weaver with 16 points and led the team in rebounds.

Top defensive player: Pinkston.

"Great job battling from the beginning to the end!" So proud of the hard-working group of girls,” said Coach Brewster.

 

Lady Hawks 21, Lady Blues (Eighth B) 12

Top Scorer: Angela Fuentes, four points.

Top defensive player: Payton Collins with three steals and three rebounds.

 

Lady Blues (Seventh A) 25, Lady Hawks 17

Top scorer: Hadleigh Allen, 10 points.

Top rebounder: Angel May.

Top defensive players: Adyson Herpecheand Kylie Pruitt.

"Great job on fighting from the very beginning and never giving up ladies! Be proud of your progress,” said Lady Blues coach Alyssa Meeks.

 

Lady Blues (Seventh B) 25, Lady Blues 13

Top scorer: Peyton Petty w/ 12 pts.

Top defensive players: Aryann Rangel lead the team in steals and Kerstin Shupbach lead in rebounds.

"Huge shout out to Maria Melchor for playing 2 different positions and competing at each,” said Lady Blues coach Denise Browning.

 

The GJHS Lady Blues return to action Monday, Dec. 19 when they travel to Vernon. The evening will start at 4 p.m. with the seventh-grade B team, followed by the seventh-grade A team. The eighth-grade B team is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the eighth-grade A team.
