GJHS XC runs at Lipan Invitational

Graham Junior High School cross country competed in its second meet of the season Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the 15th Annual Lipan Indian Invitational. Head coach Regina England said every runner except for one improved their time from last week’s meet. Seventh grader Gabriel Rodriguez finished in the top 10 of the boys’ race to earn a medal.

In the team standings, the eighth grade boys finished second overall out of 12 competing teams. GJHS eighth grade girls finished fifth out of 10 teams and the seventh grade boys finished seventh out of eight teams.

GJHS will compete Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the Wyatt Dickerson Invitational, at Alvord High School. In the middle school races, seventh and eighth grades will run combined races. The middle school girls’ race will begin at 4 p.m. and will be followed by the middle school boys’ race.
