Graham boys run away from Iowa Park

The Iowa Park boys’ basketball team opted to try to slow down their District 6-4A matchup with Graham rather than run with the Steers. It didn’t work. Graham filled up the basketball early and often as it cruised to a 57-33 victory over the Hawks last Friday evening at the Graham High School gymnasium.

“I really liked the team’s attitude tonight,” said coach Marcus Morris following the game. “We are unselfish, the way the team roots for one another to do good each time they step on the court has been big for us. There were times tonight where we looked like a pretty good team and then it looked sloppy in the second half where we were trying to add to out big lead.”

Iowa Park (0-1) tried to stay with the Steers early by keeping the score close at the 4:15 mark of the first quarter, trailing 7-4. Not much went right for the Hawks after that. Senior Evan Ranger dialed a 3-pointer from the ...
