Graham golf tees off at Bluebonnet Invitational

The Lady Blues and Steers golf teams continued their success at the Bluebonnet Invitational in Brownwood, scoring first and second place team scores in the tournament.

The tournament was held Tuesday, March 17 at the Brownwood Country Club. As a team, the Lady Blues scored first overall with 418 and the Steers scored second place with a score of 336.

Lady Blues athlete Jacie Trice was first for the girls side with a score of 93, while Adde Fade was second with a score of 105. Graham’s Maddyx Marin and Addie Gober tied for fourth place with scores of 110 and Mai Bara finished with a score of 112. 

Jagger Nees was first in the tournament for the boys side with a score of 75. The team’s high ranking also was due to the efforts of Lucas Todd who scored 83, Karson Willingham who scored 96, Cash Holland who scored 90, Bryce Walker who scored 88 and Jordan Ginn who scored 90.

The success followed the Steers performance Monday, March 2 in the Steers Invitational where they scored first as a team. The Lady Blues also participated in the Burleson Elks JV Golf tournament Wednesday, March 4 and came out with solid performances. 

The team finished in second place on the day with a score of 394 and Jacie Trice along with Adde Fade were top performers as individuals in that tournament. 

The Steers will participate Thursday, March 26 in the Glen Rose Spring Invitational at Squaw Valley before the start of district for both the Steers and Lady Blues takes off March 30-31 at Live Oak Golf Club in Abilene.

Regionals will be held from April 13-14 for the Steers and April 15-16 for the Lady Blues. Both regional competitions will be held at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock. 

The boys state competition will be held April 27-28 and the girls competition will be held May 4-5 in Kingsland.
