Graham JH girls basketball plays McNeil

Following a successful opening week of the season, the Graham Lady Blues junior high basketball teams took the floor Monday night against McNeil looking to claim more victories to start the season. In the seventh grade “A” team contest, the Lady Blues improved to 2-0 on the season with a 29-22 victory. Shae Mercer led the Lady Blues with 9 points in the contest, with Rachel Grimsley scoring 7 points. The seventh grade “B” team Lady Blues were able to even their record at 1-1 on the season with a blowout 30-6 victory over McNeil. Christabel Cervantes led the scoring in the game for Graham with 8 points, with Connie Taylor, Michel Graham, Karsyn Gallagher and Morgan Welsh all adding 4 points. The eighth grade A teamunfortunately fell to McNeil by a score of 34-18, making their record at 1-1 for the season. Leah Holland led the Lady Blues with 10 points, followed by Aubrey Lles with 4 points. The B eighth grade Lady Blues also struggled against McNeil and were defeated by a score of 39-18, with Addi Kimberling the leading scorer for Graham with 14 points, in addition to going 6-for-8 from the free throw line in the game. When the Thanksgiving break concludes Nov. 28, the Lady Blues will finally get to enjoy the comforts of home as they play host to Iowa Park with the seventh grade games beginning at 4:30 p.m. and the eighth grade games beginning at 5:30 p.m.
