Graham Junior High basketball sees success

The Graham Junior High School girls basketball team is peaking at the right moment. With the midway point of their schedule concluding this past week, there is no question that the team should be fun to watch down the stretch.

Wichita Falls Barwise

The 8th-grade A team took on Barwise on Monday at home and used a strong second-half performance to run away with a 22-14 win.

“The girls did a good job of making adjustments after the half,” said coach Shannon Weaver. “They did everything that was asked of them plus some. It was a fun game to coach.”

Brooklyn Thomas opened the scoring with a layup early in the first quarter. Thomas added another basket before halftime while Maddie Mandela had a basket as well, giving Graham a slim 8-7 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Lady Blues dominated throughout by outscoring Barwise 14-7. After a made free throw from Sadie Salazar, Tatum Westerman ....
