More often than not, things don’t always go according to plan in the playoffs. While the Graham Lady Blues might not have gotten off to the start they planned on Friday afternoon against Springtown, they certainly won’t be complaining with the finish. Despite dropping the first set of their area round playoff game against the Lady Porcupines, the Lady Blues had more than enough fight left in them to rebound and advance to the regional quarterfinals in four sets from Jacksboro High School. Graham (32-8) was scheduled to face Abilene Wylie Tuesday night from Breckenridge High School in the regional quarterfinal round, with the winner advancing to the regional tournament beginning on Friday afternoon against either No.1 Bushland or Denver City from the Coliseum in Snyder, with the regional final being held on Saturday afternoon. One regional tournament place has already been clinched as district rival Burkburnett was elminated by No. 2 Glen Rose Monday night in Jacksboro. The other two teams battling for a regional tournament berth are Levelland and Monahans. Much like the first meeting between these two teams in the opening game of the season, Springtown came out in the opening set and managed to keep the Lady Blues off guard, eventually winning 25-14.
