Graham, Newcastle represented at Big Country FCA All-Star Festival

Athletes from Graham High School and Newcastle High School represented their schools last week at the 2022 Big Country FCA All-Star Festival. The festival took place in Abilene, Brownwood,  Eastland and San Angelo with events for baseball, basketball, football, softball, cheerleading and golf.

More than 325 of the Big Country region’s top athletes representing 88 high schools were selected to participate.

The all-star festival began Saturday, June 4 with the boys’ and girls’ basketball games in Brownwood. The event picked up June 6-7 with a golf tournament in Eastland. Ryan Grimsley represented Graham High School June 10 at the baseball game in San Angelo.

Saturday, June 11 was the volleyball and football games. During Saturday’s volleyball game, Emma Parker represented Graham High School with Mia Heartfield on the court as a cheerleader representing Graham. Parker played on the blue team for the volleyball match at Wylie High School in Abilene. The morning started with two exhibition matches. The blue team won the first 25-19 and was defeated by the red team, 25-19 in the second exhibition.
