Graham powerlifting performs at home meet

With the regular season winding down, the Graham varsity girls and junior varsity boys powerlifters competed in their home meet Thursday inside the GHS athletic fieldhouse.

The Lady Blues and Steers only saw eight athletes compete in the meet, but the few who performed, saw plenty of positives against the other four schools.

“We only had one boy compete due to a few lingering injuries and other things,” said Blues powerlifting coach Gregg Lee.

Armando Anaya, the lone boy lifter for Graham, came in third in the 220-pound weight class, with a total of 885 pounds. He squatted 335, benched 200 and dead lifted 350.

Mineral Wells’ Hunter Rice took first in the division with his total .....
