Graham tennis clobbers Mineral Wells

Something special clicked last Tuesday when tennis coach Matt Birdwell decided to mix up his boys doubles teams. "They were getting too used to each other," Birdwell said. "They were starting to rely on each other too much instead of really playing their game." The results of the reshuffling were impressive to say the least. With Aaron Rice now paired with Nick Stevens, and Will Reger and Marcos Gonzales teaming up, the shift helped lead Graham to a 19-0 victory over Mineral Wells. The mixed doubles team of Marcus Monfort and Sabrina Adriana continued their undefeated dominance, adding Mineral Wells to a successful list that also includes Brownwood, Rider, Burkburnett and Iowa Park. Both players also have continued to excel individually, as well. Graham will be in Iowa Park next Tuesday before a match with Burkburnett on Saturday, Oct. 1. A trio of rematch home tournaments against Mineral Wells, Hirschi and Vernon on Oct. 4, 8 and 11 round out Graham's regular season schedule.
