Graham Tennis opens season with home win

Graham Tennis opened up the 2021 team tennis season with a 12-7 win in the season opener against Decatur Saturday at Graham High School. The Steers took five of six matches in boy’s singles while the girls took three of six. The Steers swept Decatur in boy’s doubles while the Lady Blues lost all their girl’s doubles.

In the boy’s singles. Joshua Gipson (8-4), Nathan Rice (9-7), Luke Qualls (8-0), Dustin Robinson (8-2) and Dave Price (8-0) each earned wins for Graham. John Upton lost 8-9, 3-7 in No. 1 Singles.

Upton and Rice won the No. 1 boy’s doubles match 9-8, 7-4. Qualls and Robinson earned a win in No. 2 boy’s doubles with a score of 8-3. In the No. 3 boy’s doubles, Price and John Rice won 8-2
