Graham XC runs to region meet, place first and second in district

The Graham High School cross country teams ran in the 5-4A district meet Thursday morning at Kirby Middle School. The girl’s team won the district championship while the boy’s team placed second. Both have advanced to the 4A Region 1 meet taking place at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock Oct. 25.

Madilyn and Macee Wilde took the top two spots overall. Madilyn won the girl’s 3200-meter race with a time of 13:22.02. Macee finished second overall at 13:26.37. Kylee Miller finished 15th overall at 14:23.15. Alejandra Barrios was the final Lady Blue in the top-20 at 19th overall with a finishing time of 14:46.12. Olivia Pettus finished 22nd overall at 14:57.26. Alexa Palacios and Michel Graham finished 25th and 26th at 15:07.66 and 15:15.94.

Graham finished with 56 points in the girl’s race. The seven runners finished with an average time of 14:10.99. Burkburnett finished second overall with 59 points. Mineral Wells finished third with 73.
